Lately Viki has made a rule that if there is no moderator in a language, there can be no subbers without moderator. Therefore the Channel Manager cannot add you.
What you can do is write to a Hindi moderator and ask him/her whether s/he needs help with some project and/or note that you would like to work on this particular drama, so would s/he be interested in applying for the moderator role there?

You should look for recent Chinese dramas and write to the Korean moderator if there is one.

I looked at recent dramas that donāt require a Viki Pass, and after checking many, I could only find two Korean moderatorsāboth of whom seem to have been inactive for over six months. Maybe I should try reaching out to them.

Yes, try reaching out but itās likely it wonāt come to anything.
If you donāt have Viki pass it means that you donāt have 3000 subtitles, therefore even if you write to the Channel Manager s/he wonāt be able to add you as moderator.
The Coming Soon would be the next step, but those will be behind Viki pass.
The only thing to get out of this vicious circle is to ask a moderator of a Coming Soon project saying that youāre willing to pay for a Vikipass for 3 months, until you get your first 3000 subtitles. (Donāt start the subscription until you get a place in a project!) Itās very counterintuitive and unfair, to have to pay in order to work for free, and I usually donāt recommend it, but there are cases where itās the only way.

I reached the 3000 subtitles in less than two monthsā¦ However, I now realize how lucky I was (and also a little obsessed 
) Every day is getting harder to find a project that doesnāt come āpresubbedā in Spanish, so I asked to the moderators I had worked with to join their editing teamsā¦
Maybe you could start segmenting? Or translating from Korean to English? or from English to any other language you are proficient with?

They are similar enough for Dutch speakers and Afrikaans speakers to understand each other, but that does not mean that any of us automatically has the skills necessary to deliver quality subtitles in the other language. Please only recruit subtitlers who are either native Afrikaans speakers or who have been seriously studying the language.

I was not going to recruit her/him. For they are different languages for a reason. I hope you were not offended as I have seen in previous posts that you speak dutch.
Subbing from Korean to English (and from any Asian language to English) isnāt possible anymore for a very long time already. All the channels are already pre-subbed in English by Viki paid subbers, and lately also in Portuguese, Spanish, and French.
Thatās not possible anymore since all shows come with English and Portuguese subtitles nowadays, but @abhirami could apply as a Korean translation editor (TE). And for segmenters, there is always a project to join, but you first need to go through the NSSA training.

Honestly, Iām really passionate about making subtitles, so Iām not that interested in becoming a Korean Translation Editor or a segmenter at the moment. However, if taking on either of these roles helps me get closer to becoming a subtitler, Iād be more than happy to do it while gaining valuable experience.

Then your best bet is writing captions (transcribing the spoken language) for Korean shows or translating other Asian shows from English (or the original spoken language if you happen to know it) to Korean. You would still need a moderator to start doing that, though.

There are NO MORE opportunities for anyone to become Korean-to-English subtitler. And there will not be in the future either. Because Viki is translating all Korean dramas beforehand.
