Hi!! I have already becoming a moderator for 2 series. The problem is, I have been waiting to become a moderator for The Legendary of Kitchen Soldier drama for nearly 2 weeks, since it was in a Channel Manager tab so I didn’t apply for the position yet.
Then, only today I can apply for it but I noticed that my application willl be send to the vikisubteam instead. Means, there are no Channel Manager, but during application there are 90 people who applied for it.
I would like to know if this is normal for a new drama, where they will transfer the position to the suitable person slowly. Or, is it means that it is not opened for subbing?

This is currently the normal situation. There will certainly be a CM when the episodes have been completely aired on Viki.

Hi, not certainly. I was a moderator for a drama that was currently airing at the time and was able to add subtitles in my language. Maybe you can try to DM the CM if there are two of them. Hope that helps!

@statiny We’re talking about a K-drama here, and lately, they usually aren’t assigned a team until after they’ve aired. This team has Vikisub as its CM, and jihah2905 has to wait until it gets a CM who isn’t a Viki (staff) account.

@a_hauth_238 Aah, apologies. If that is the case that Viki is the CM then yes, it has to be waited till the k-drama has aired. My mistake.

I would love to be the final “lint picker” for English texts from any project, any language, to catch the flaws and inconsistencies in the English.
Errors I have noted: misspelled words, subject/verb not in agreement, variable spelling of a Romanized word, wrong preposition, wrong pronoun for gender, wrong word for the concept, stray formatting from someone’s word processor … all kinds of little lint particles.
I’m an experienced tech writer and editor and I love editing.

Hello! I used to make English to Polish subs a couple years back, but I had to withdraw due to real life stuff. Now I’d like to come back to it. I’m a native speaker of Polish, with C1 English knowledge, plus I know some basics of Chinese, Korean and Japanese. I’d love to help with some of the less popular dramas. Not looking for anything with a strict schedule or minimum quota, as I’m doing it for fun only and don’t want to see it as another job - just wanted to be clear from the get-go to avoid misunderstandings. Cześć! Kilka lat temu robiłam napisy z angielskiego na polski, ale ze względu na różne życiowe zobowiązania musiałam się wycofać. Teraz chciałabym do tego wrócić. Polski to mój język ojczysty, mam certyfikat C1 z angielskiego, znam też podstawy japońskego, chińskiego i koreańskiego. Chciałabym pracować nad dramami spoza topki, nie nad najpopularniejszymi. Nie interesują mnie projekty z obowiązkowym harmonogramem albo wymogami co do minimalnego nakładu pracy, ponieważ traktuję subowanie jak zabawę, a nie kolejny etat - myślę, że lepiej od razu powiedzieć to wprost, żeby później nie było nieporozumień. Odezwij się do mnie, jeśli masz jakiś stary projekt z dużymi zaległościami, a chętnie pomogę się z nimi uporać!
