Itās been about two years since, and I wanted to know what the situation is like now. Evidently, they donāt need Kor-Eng subtitlers even now. But are shows looking for captioners?

Hi Keya, welcome back.
A lot has changed on Viki. All shows now have presubs in at least English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French, but more and more shows have presubs in other languages too. So far there are about 21 presub languages in total and Iām sure there will soon be more.
Most of the presub languages can still be edited, but the source-language presubs (if they are there) are often hardsubs that donāt appear in the editor. So for captioning, you should look for a K-drama without Korean presubs.
Another option might be translating EN-KO on a show from another country. In that case, there needs to be a moderator in the team. This could be you if you have at least 3,000 subs in Korean Ć”nd donāt have more than 2 (for QCs) or 4 (for Gold QCs) unfinished projects as a moderator. Otherwise, the CM wonāt be technically able to add you. So if you canāt be added as a moderator, someone else should be the moderator cause subbers without moderators are not allowed anymore. @cgwm808 might have an old show that you could work on.
You could also look into becoming a Translation Editor (TE) in the English teams. @worthyromance or @damiechan might be able to help you.
If you donāt have a VikiPass anymore, either look for shows that donāt require one or temporarily buy a pass until youāve renewed your QC status.
