Whatcha Wearin is a soft porn movie?

Whatcha Wearin’?
This movie contains extreme nudity and actual intercourse on a site that children as young as 9 are members and able to watch it. Are you guys have gone crazy?
Do you think this is appropriate for a family friendly site?

we are asking you to remove this movie immediately.
Please respond ASAP

To those who mentioned my avatar picture of Park Shi Ho in shower it completely different from having intercourse on the screen!
Viki started as a family friendly place for people around the world a safe place for all of us with different culture and value what is seems to be okay for you it is not good in my culture.
We all know most of QC on viki all under 18 even much younger if viki does not want to remove the movie they can be more responsible and post some warning and disclaimer.

I use WE since I already talked to group of people and they agree with me, just to let you know!

Hello.

I have NOT come across this movie before, and I don’t think I came across it as I was looking for some k-movies to watch just last night. I also had to type in nearly the whole name of the movie into the “Search” bar just to get it to pop up. Viki knows my age, so I think that this movie is a bit harder for younger viewers like me to search.

However, I sort of have to disagree with you. I agree that actual sex and such shouldn’t be watched on a site like Viki, but there are viewers who like genres like this. There are/were many viewers for this movie, too. Also, Viki is a drama/movie streaming site, so they are supposed to bring in different genres of dramas/movies for people to watch.

If you’re still having problems with this movie being on Viki, please contact the Viki Help Center.

Have a wonderful day.

uh… so should we censor our subtitles too?
I was told that the terms of agreement says you are at least 15.

Then each country has its own method of viewing standards.

What is in fact missing is in the “About” section to put in N17 I think that is the
correct rating, is it? Not sure why channel manager did not put this there.
This drama has over 5000 likes by viewers and in the comments everyone likes it,
yeah we are all humans.
And as a parent I would NOT let watch a 9 yrs old Viki.com, do you let them watch it,
or how do you know there are 9 years old members on viki??
I too agree with @icedthy and @sophie2you. - Im sure viki knows what they are uploading.
But you know on your profile pic, the shower scene with Park Shi Hoo is kinda erotic too  :innocent:, and you are the only one asking Viki to remove it, “we” don’t necessary think they should.

edit: the Rating has been found on the main page of the movie, oops my bad!

The movie’s rating is clearly noted in the “About” section of the movie. There are a couple of movies on Viki with the NC-17 rating. Just to be on the safe side, I’ll add the rating to the cover page.

I didn’t know 9 year olds were allowed to open website accounts, or watch TV unattended.

Anyway, Viki doesn’t say it’s safe for children. Viki also has blood and gore. Nudity isn’t the only thing children shouldn’t watch. Monsters, eviscerations, ghosts, abuse… Would you let a child watch them?

The solution certainly isn’t to turn all websites into baby cartoon sites, but to keep an eye on the children or avoid what our own sensitivities won’t let us enjoy.

I will have to agree that Viki lacks clear ratings and that the about pages are practically empty.

A quick look at Viki’s info https://www.viki.com/terms_of_use yields this, its very first clause:

  1. Binding Contract

By registering for or using the Viki Services, either through Viki or via Facebook, Inc (“Facebook”), you confirm that you are 18 years of age or more, that any information you submit to Viki is true, accurate and complete, and that you agree to the terms and conditions of these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Intellectual Property Policy.

Since anyone with access to the internet in any way can watch Viki without registering for an account, or subscribing to Viki PASS, I think the onus falls on parents to monitor their children and keep a tab on their activities online. In this day of rampant digital/smart mobile life styles, it should be a must-do for any parent when they have minor children who are allowed or could gain access into the digital cyberway.

However, it would still be good for Viki to insert a disclaimer prominently on its homepage (and probably good for every channel page) everywhere Viki has a presence.

I’m not bias, but I feel pointing a finger at Viki would mean having to point a finger at so so so many other digital service providers. It would be easy for Viki to remove the video but there are so many other sites that host the same video, and more. Besides, this video ‘Whatcha Wearing’ is rated 19 adult comedy (i.e. teenagers and below-19 prohibited). Also, take Youtube for instance. It’s the biggest and most watched video hosting site which anyone, even minor children, are known to have access to it. Registration with age barrier is quite useless since any child, anyone can fake their information when there’s no parent in sight. Parental guidance is tantamount to prevent exposure to undesirables. Especially for a minor in the digital realm.

I agree with some of you on the necessity of parental guidance.

That movie is on Viki for ages, saw it a while ago. I do agree it’s not a movie for children but I disagree with Viki removing it. I don’t think it’s Viki’s job to parent and make sure children don’t watch it. It’s the job of a parent to make sure their child isn’t watching this and watch their behavior online. Next to that Viki did give it an NC-17 rating so a parent should know that their 9 year old should not watch it.

I know there are some QC’s who are below 18 but I won’t report them to Viki because 1. that isn’t my job and 2. maybe they have permission from their parents. So who am I, or Viki, to say no when a parent is fine with it?! Clearly Viki doesn’t take action either because the underage QC’s I know don’t hide their age on here either.

Have you seen the first 5 minutes of this movie?

Very well said I agree with you about parental and for viki be more responsible.

I agree with you on viki about clear rating on their video and it is the channel manager to put some kind of warning for viewers.

Yes I did. Your post reminds me of some other discussions post that said that the series reminded her of trauma and how she was in shock. She urged viki to put these kinds of warning labels prior to viewing.

It would be almost impossible in that case because she was talking about an on-air show that viki has no idea what the contents will be prior to airing.

@kamkar1 the tvN’s have a rating and it comes up immediately as a splash screen. This does not… but the Korean title is My P.S. (Sex) Partner <= the Sex isn’t there. It’s just understood that what they mean by partner is bed partner.

Isn’t that pretty obvious what kind of contents this is?

I haven’t seen it, because I read the plot and thought it would be too saucy and on the romantic side. I prefer thrillers.
If I could guess, I suppose everybody could, except for children. Again, I wouldn’t expect children to have to pick for themselves.

If you’re trying to say that most QCs on Viki are under 18, you’re wrong. 99% of them are adults. I’ve only met like 3-4 other Vikians who are minors (high school age). But please pardon me if I’m reading this wrong.

Before I wrote the comment I looked at the “About” section and couldn’t see it, do I look in the wrong place?

It’s on the main page of the channel, not where the movie plays. Click “Watcha Wearin”? above the 9.6 rating.

It’s both on the section that Viki provides under “About” and I have added it to the movie’s cover page.

ohhh, I should have known, I guess it was late at night and today I just used history to get the link. Thank you, I thought it was odd, omg how did I miss that. Thank you for pointing that out!!! I think Im wasting my time here… I should be rather subbing

It’s a tough subject to tackle. There are a couple of movies here that are not appropriate for minors but I do think it is all about how parents manage their kids Internet usage. There is an audience for movies like this one and as long as it is clearly marked, it should be a personal responsibility to watch or not.

I’ll do the same and get back to segmenting and editing.

Censoring subtitles depends on the context, doesn’t it? Like if the drama is meant to have a lot of “foul” language I don’t think we should censor it.
For example, in Modern Farmer, nothing was censored. It’s because it was meant to be ^^"
I don’t think we should censor the subs, it’d ruin the whole feeling.

I don’t think we should censor for this title
