Whatcha Wearin is a soft porn movie?

To be honest, many teenagers have found much worse than this movie looking around on the internet. I am going to pull out the old person card but back in the 70s the movie rating system was very loose. PG would have been closer to PG13 or R rating by todays standards. I remember seeing a few movies at the movie theater when I was around 16 that were PG that included frontal nudity of women like the movie Billy Jack and it wasn’t in a nice way. I never chose to go to a R rated movie in high school because I knew I wasn’t ready. I wanted my daughter to see the original Footloose movie with me about 3 years ago when she was around 14. I totally forgot about the bare bottom shower scene in the locker room. It was a mom oops moment. The stuff I heard about in middle school and high school back in the 70s involving teenagers were probably far worse than this movie.

oh my… I totally forgot that shower scene, too! But now, reading about it, hahaha, I know, what you mean!

“Ronja, Räubertochter” is a MUST in geman elementary schools. Almost each class reads this book, they watch the movie on DVD and they watch stage plays for children. No one would ever think, that something with this book is not appropriate. But I get your point, that other cultures could be offended.

Other cultures, other points of view, other kisses  … Godzilla - you made my day! I’m just thinking about Heartstrings!

Talking about books at German schools lol… We read " Der Vorleser" and well i think some people here would freak out. Children who would want to see sexual content will find it. If i saw stuff like that in movies in my childhood i used to look away or just close the movie.

I didn’t even knew, that the movie is at Viki. In my opinion, the movie is marked as NC-17, you have put the information on the coverwall as well, so no one can blame you or Viki to not point out, that the movie is not suitable for minors! Parents should watch out, what their children are watching. My girls started to watch dramas at Viki with around 15 or 16 with my permission.

P.S. - I love My P.S. partner and watched it together with my girls, when they were over 18

I want to share a story with you. My mother also was a translator, so she translated, for a magazine, a serial novel called “Catherine”, by Juliette Benzoni. We’re talking about the late '60s here. The novel itself was written in 1963 so romance novels did not include actual sex scenes, like now.
But there was a chapter where Philippe Le Bon, duke of Bourgogne takes the heroine who was in rags somewhere and elevates her to the rank of his mistress. On their first night, the maids wash her and he visits her in the bedroom, near a fireplace. He softly undoes a tie or something and her robe slips to the ground and she is naked etc. Not that the etc. was much, it ended soon afterwards.
Well, as I used to avidly read it, my mother hadn’t seen this scene coming, and when I did read it, she was a bit concerned. So she questioned me about it.
“What did you think about the past two chapters?”
“Oh mom, the previous one was totally boring, she was dressed in rags. But after she goes to the palace, the next morning the maids present her with a dress which was all velvet [bla bla bla] with long sleeves [bla bla bla], and a ruby necklace with little [bla bla bla], and not only that, a fine chain with a pearl pendant which goes on the forehead, and hangs exactly here, see? Can you find me one like that?”
It seems I was babbling for half an hour about her dresses. The sex scene had completely slipped my mind because it was completely uninteresting to the 10-year old me.
The picture I just found online must be from that same book (this is the English edition though)

Your mother translated Cathérine de Montsalvy??? Oh my god!! I loved the books from Juliette Benzoni! I even have some paperbacks from the series. And I also loved the books about Marianne, Fiora and Judith. I must admit that I love this genre and I have the whole Angélique collection from Anne Golon. But I’m getting of track, so back to the topic  I know, what you mean, children won’t have dirty thoughts, when they have no interest. Just the adults find something to nitpic and see naughtiness.

I think that one could classify Cathérine, Angélique and company as soft porn of the times. Even if you look at the covers, with half of her breasts showing and her looking like Brigitte Bardot. Which is strange, if you think of it, because it’s obviously literature meant for women.

I am set in my ways, being that I am older than most of you, I am not a square, been around that block a few times( an old saying) but the old saying of many years ago, whatever goes on in the bedroom is no ones business but the couples. this is the one and only show I was really upset about, love those actors & actresses, did they need money so bad that they did a porn flick?? sorry but that is one thing I don’t think should be shown, , this is one time I really got upset about any show. I guess I am the only one that complained here and on Drama fever. I didn’t watch all of it. selling sex??? PLEASE! and one of my favorite actor & actress at that! now I understand why some of the people shun away from even touching their hands , which again is a bit too much. but I’d rather see that than someone having phone sex!!

Youraverageangel, I didn’t watch this on Viki, I watched it on Drama fever, so Viki is safe this time. I agree susan…
and yes you can find a lot of bad stuff in shows if you look. but this one is not a good one.
