the ones that havenāt been shown, that detective oh yeah! Detective Dee and the other ones , so many I would love to see, I couldnāt tell you the titles, but I have seen on other links,
which Iād love Viki to get licenses for, the detective ones, mysteries, sci fi ones, the whole bunch, the new ones and the older ones
I would love, love to see again here at Rviki, is a Japanese short drama that I did spanish subs and edited the english subs when it was a little off (i guess they used a translator sometimes).
Anyway, it was about an almost 30 year old housewife, with a cheating husband and 2 gorgeous intelligent kids. The little girl was amazingly intelligent, the way she talked to her mommy and console her.
I remember she wanted to be a model and terrible things happens to her along the way but in the end she triumphs and become a role model for womenā¦
The only thing I remember about the title right now is Colour de rose. Iāve tried to find it elsewhere with no luck. It was inspirational and I loved the ending more than anything. I always thought it would have a second part but sadly it never happened (as far as I know).
Oh, I didnāt post here before? How could this happen?
I think I would want to watch 5 Ji Kara 9 Ji, I donāt know how it is but still.
One I have seen, several times probably my first real J-Drama love is Pride, so even it is a bit aged now. This one is still present in my mind.
Rich Man Poor Woman ā¦ Japanese version is better, if I may say so.
I still think there are many more, but will leave it at 3.
Hello all! I would love to suggest J-dramas for Viki to license. Here are a select few of my old favorites that Iād love to recommend and watch with you on Viki. I listed in (sorta) alphabetical order and tried to stop before including too many. (>_<) I do have more suggestions if you need them! Thanks for considering. sheishun
i watched iguana no musume a long time ago, (2008 i think??) and the whole time i could not decide if i loved it, or disliked it. It is so ā¦ different. But i watched the whole drama with very much anticipation. Iād really like to rewatch it, to see if it still has the same confusing impact on me.
I finished watching that japanese detective, hae almost acted like shurlock, criminologist etc. sorry. but this was funny entertaining too and also good mysteries.
Yeah, after a bit of searching, I found it. On a site I cannot mention here.
Look for āHoly Battle in Couleur de Rose - The Future Is ā¦ā and you will eventually find it. All six episodes, fully subbed in English.
Thanks a lot. Iām going to fill out the request form to see if we can have it here at viki again, and hopefully done with a better translation. Iām checking to see if I can find it to watch it again. If I canāt find it, Iāll PM you bc I really would love to see this drama again.
a few months ago on an unnamed link I watched a young detective and his side kick, good mystery, this was not an aneme. the guy acted like a sherlock holmes, another was about a guy with a red eye, think he had powers, and this one was an aneme
another one was a psychic that teamed with a detctive, what about young sherlock, cant find it anywhere! course dont have titles. oh! and one I thought was interesting, beautiful bones.
Iāll copy-paste my list from another thread here. A textwall, but I think in this context more info is better than not enough, and I donāt plan on posting one of these every day. (āThanks!ā they say.
)
āLifeā (2007) - based on Keiko Suenobuās manga about brutal school bullying, is easily the best, most ethically spectacular drama Iāve ever seen. Iād die to see it again and I would dearly like to introduce a whole bunch of friends to it, butā¦ thereās no longer any place to see it. I describe āLifeā as being āLike āAlien,ā but with scarier monsters.ā Every single scene in this is electrifying, and every single scene has that rarity of rarities, the either-or moral choice . In virtually every scene someone has to choose between loyalty to a friend vs. fitting in with the crowd; giving up vs. fighting; standing up for oneself vs. caving in and living as a beaten dog; trashing an enemy in vengeance vs. elegantly stepping aside and allowing them to destroy themselves via their own embarrassing actions; stepping in and saving the day for someone else vs. indirectly guiding them and letting them triumph via their own effort. Viki really needs to get a āLife,ā hahaha. Anyone whoās ever had to endure being bullied will find this drama to be jaw-dropping and flat-out magnificent in its inspiration;
āJoker Yurusarezaru Sosakanā (2010) - a brilliant show about the ethical questions in vigilantism, with some incredible twists and some of the best acting Iāve seen in ages (Sakai Masato is a Japanese Gary Sinese, with an inscrutable face thatās always smiling but with heavy-duty conflict going on in his head.) I know at least two friends, one of them a bestselling writer of vigilante novels, whoād really dig this show and would likely become long-term subscibers if the show were here;
āVoiceā (2009) - about forensic science students turned detectives, with a classic āmorality playā in every episode, like vintage Star Trek and Twilight Zone used to be, IOW, food-for-thought long after itās done, and with excellent acting and writing;
āIryu: Team Medical Dragonā (2006) - one of the best and most realistic doctor shows Iāve ever seen, also with great writing, acting and effects;
āKiina: Fukano Hanzai Sosakanā (2009) - about a police woman assigned to an X-Files-type division that deals with weird supernatural cases, much like the classic āGalileoā but even weirder;
āUshi ni Negai woā (a.k.a. āWish Upon A Cowā or āLove & Farmā - 2007) - a group of pampered Tokyo college students sign up for a semester in Hokkaido to intern as farm workers, where they instantly regret it but canāt back out, so they have to learn to get serious about life and basically to grow up. I remember in the opening episode two of them birth an actual calf, live, with no effects and no help (nothing is done half-hearted in Japan, including acting.) The calf, which they name āGreen,ā basically becomes another cast member as he grows older. Just a cool and totally unique show;
āYasashii Jikanā (2005) - about a father and son living a few miles apart on Hokkaido without knowing it, whoād become estranged after the son crashed the family car, killing his mother. The father runs the Forest Clock, a coffee bar with a huge picture window that looks out on the forest beyond - an actual place you can visit in Furano. A really intense, emotional melodrama that will stick with you forever, and has Ayaka Hiraharaās āAshitaā as its theme song(!)
Dr. X (2012) - This was on Amazon Prime but got deleted before I had the time to see it (theyāve ditched a ton of their J-dramas too, which means there has to be a bunch of J-drama addicts just as frustrated as me, wanting somewhere else to see them.) This one has gone to six seasons, so it must be good.
Asakusa Fukumaru Ryokan (2007) - about a nosy and hilarious inn owner in Tokyoās Asakusa district, starring Nishida Toshiyuki, who played the grumpy noodle chef opposite the late, great Brittany Murphy in āRamen Girl.ā This had a second season but Iāve only seen the first - a great comedy with some heavy tear-jerker action too. By the end of this the actors will feel like theyāre your family, and youāll be sad to have to say goodbye to them.
Midnight Diner (a.k.a. Shinya Shokudo - 2009 onward) - About a diner that opens at midnight and closes in the morning, and the weird regulars and non-regulars who show up there. This is mondo cool and has gone to something like five seasons, but Netflix only has one. So a great opportunity to pick up their slack and basically pull fans of the show away from the āflixā Borg.
Prolly others Iām forgetting - well āWith Loveā from 1998, which is basically the same story as the movie āYouāve Got Mailā but came out several months earlier - people might be put off by the now ancient-looking computers that are the focus of the story, but itās a great story (with some flaws,) with phenomenal music thatās woven throughout the plot.
Ok, now Iām done. Again, sorry for the textwall but better to be thorough.
