Which languages do you know and which do you want to learn?

Hi,

Arabic and English are my native languages. I studied French in school, but can hardly remember it. Studied Chinese in college (my reading skills are better than my spoken or listening) and am currently learning Japanese and self-learning Malay.

Wish I had more time and resources to learn Urdu and Mongolian among other languages.

I know:
English (native)
Spanish

I want to learn:
Korean
Japanese
Mandarin
French

I know Polish (native language), English, German and Russian.

I want to learn: Korean (I think, that I’m not bad, but you know… self-taught ^^), Japanese and Spanish!

Oh, and since september I’ll learn French in new school ^^

Nap bouleee

three women together means ‘noisy’ in Japanese ??? hahahaha

English(native)
French(I’m a level below the first level of fluent)
Spanish(It’s a bit strange but I can read it at the base fluent level but my speaking and audio comprehension is lower then my French)

I want to learn:
Korean( Leaning it now actually)
Japanese
Swahili
Greek(I now some rudimentary phrases)
Italian
Mandarin
Hebrew
Arabic

If the day comes that I know all those fluently I’d be content with my language skills. Though I wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to learn others.

that’s pretty ambitious of you. what’s your game plan? do you plan to pursue language studies formally on your own?

i desperately want to get better at spanish and start learning russian. after that i hope to learn farsi and german. I tried to get a head start with farsi but i got so confused…

why’d you get confused?

Native : Indonesia
Know a lot of English
A very little of Arabic, French and Spanish.

Want to learn : Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, French, Germany, Spanish, Arabic, Italy

Why don’t we create a language learning forum? Just a thought

On my own mostly, but hey My Korean is coming along. Language isn’t that hard for me. So why not push myself.

How long have you been learning Korean? I recently found a “fluent in 6 months” challenge that I wanted to try, and it would be nice to bounce ideas of someone who’s a beginner as well to gauge progress as well as stay on track.

Hi, I know:
Spanish (native)
English.

I want to learn:
Korean.
Japanese

That’s great. Have you started studying either Japanese or Korean?

Are there any guidelines to the “fluent in 6 months” challenge? Or recommendations for completing the challenge?

Do you want to give it a go, too? There weren’t really some concrete recommendations, but there was a record of sorts from someone who did it successfully, plus a “1000 words in 30 days” challenge in the middle of it.

I’m studying korean.

I keep(kept) trying to understand the readings and the website I used wasn’t very helpful I think. Honestly I am just a big dumb so I most likely failed to understand what they were probably telling me in the easiest way possible. :-/

I might, I’m definitely curious!. . . I’ve been studying Korean for over a year and moving at turtle pace… Maybe this would be just the motivation I need to kick it into high gear. Or maybe I’d try to learn Mandarin.
