You Know You've Been Watching Too Many Kdramas When

It was 정신

As in
정신차려! -> Get a hold of yourself!
정신없어! -> I’m out of my mind!
?

I’ve recently started saying “daebak” often instead of “jjincha” or “jeongmal” :joy: It got to the point where my younger brother told me to stop saying that but then I caught him saying daebak the other day  I feel that I’ve accomplished my goal as an older sister! One day, I’ll get him into kdramas. On second thought, he actually showed interest in the Kdrama remake The Suspicious Housekeeper. I was re-watching an episode without English subtitles and he was watching along.

That’s one of my favorite dramas.

Same thing when I have to translate the idea of a student at work and I want to mix language to translate more accurately, but I have to stick with French (the language I’m teaching)…

But “Im out of my mind” isnt always the perfect translation… i dont remember the context of the sub now, but whatever it is, 정신 없어! is shorter than the other english alternatives

Depending on the context, “So hectic!” is another possible translation.

I’ll keep that in mind next time! I don’t remember the context of the sub anymore so I can’t go back to check it :grimacing:
