I think we need a category within subtitling for Editions. There are a lot of grammar rules that could be addressed if this section was created. There are English speaking people that could be volunteers for general and final edits, but may have questions about grammar.
Also because of the differences in languages, articles must be included with the editing or tenses must be corrected. I notice that in many Asian languages that instead of ed for past tense, they use the verb with ing (he was going vs he went).
It would be really nice to have a section for editors and edition questions.
There are clear guidelines in English language as to when to use Past Simple (went) and when Past Continuous (was going). I should hope that most editors are native speakers and can correct these mistakes automatically. Past Simple vs. Present Perfect is a different matter, depending on the native speaker’s country of origin.
However, since this is a general issue, concerning all projects, why don’t you start a grammar thread in this Subtitling category on the Forum?
