I was wondering how captioning works on Viki. I was looking for some projects through the project finder and I came across a variety show “Join Us Korea” and I realized many episodes are not English captioned; however, the language of the show is English. In order for the other languages to subtitle, doesn’t there need to be English subtitles? If the show is all in English, is there a need for English subtitles?

Yes there is,

  1. Because other language subbers may not catch all the details of the English by ear and make mistakes.
  2. For deaf people, old people, people with crappy laptops.
