Actually I also started of working on some older dramas and even asked the mod of my language. Although they said, ok go ahaed, not all of them ever added me to the team. So even if one asks for permission it can still look like one didn’t ask. I have to keep the messages to prove I have permission.

I think we should generalize the introduction of a new team member in the team discussions. Some already do it and I think it’s a great idea. Just a little sentence saying: “Welcome to our new team member @name, an English/French/Spanish… subber.”

I just want to add one word of caution. If the channel is a Fan Channel it would not be worth your time to subtitle since Fan Channel will all be deleted from Viki in the next month or two. If it is a life channel follow the procedures like mentioned by others. I’d hate to see you put in a lot of work and then have it disappear.
