Sorry that I’m not adding to your subber list, but I do think this is a great idea - having a post/list of people willing to help out with translating from language A to B and so forth! (Having one list of “everyone” is just so useful.)
I’m not a Japanese subber but what you can do is looking at the top 25 subbers for Japanese and send a help request to the help center. Recently I wrote to the help center if they knew some Dutch subbers for a project because I forgot you could look at the top 25 now. They gave me a few names I could PM.
Because in the past viki had subbers lists on the site you could check when you where looking for subbers I asked about that too and they are planning to bring those lists back to the site, new and improved 
Oh okay! How do I look at the top 25 subbers? Do I just need to email Viki asking for the list? ^_^~

Go to the comunity page… there is a top 25 there… you can select languages there. For a list send a help request to the help center or PM a mod.

NICEEEE! this is such a good post…i really need to know who is a JAP-ENG subber…they are so scarce on viki!
Going to the “Top 25 Volunteers This Week” on the right hand side of the community page is a great way to find subtitlers by language. Also, we’re currently working on a “Volunteer Finder” feature that will allow Channel teams to find volunteers more quickly. Stay tuned for more on this feature

Hi, I hope I am not spamming, I am looking for Japanese-English translators of japanese TV-dramas for an interview
I am a student of translation studies in Sweden and I am doing a thesis within translation quality of english fansubs for japanese TV-dramas where I want to compare translation quality of subtitles made through fansubbing groups and through crowdsourcing translation (VIKI).
I am going to compare two subtitiles of first chapter of three different dramas. One of the subtitles should have been made by a fansubbing group and one translation should have been made through crowdsourcing translation (VIKI).
I am looking for volunteers who could help me out, I want to make some interviews asking questions about the experience of translation of the translator and also questions about the methods and tools used when translating and how you have been working with translation quality assurance. I will try to pick the dramas that the person I am interviewing have translated. So, if you also could help me out and give me the transcription for the subtitles you have translated - it would be great!
