Subtitle guidelines for a specific language

Where can I best add specific subber guidelines for a certain language? I thought I could write it in the team notes of the drama, but then volunteers of other languages will see it as well and I don’t think I’m supposed to write it there. So, has anyone ever wrote subtitle guide lines for another languguage than English and where did you write them?

My advise is to make a google doc or something and share it with your team. When I was a Dutch mod I mostly made a doc per project with some guidelines, progress chart and a place where people could leave notes when needed.

Oké bedankt. Dat zal ik proberen.

One of the Spanish mods I know, @lupita311 does this. She lists it in her profile and calls it “the rules.” I think it is ground rules for the subtitlers who work in projects where she is language moderator.

Another chief editor I know of called cgwm808 also has a sheet of rules that shw would like adhered by.

I also believe the french mods have their version
and the Romanian Viki Subtitling Academy definitely has “rules.”

Each language is definitely different. Good luck

I posted in my profile a google document and it is quite large with grammar rules for Spanish the problem no one read it, now I made a summary of the most important things and I added some idioms in English and its correct translation to Spanish and I send it as a private message every time I notify the subbers about the episode being ready for us. Most Spanish moderators have a similar message which tells everyone what we should do, for example two question marks in Spanish we open a close them ¿? accents etc…

shame :frowning:
Must be annoying I read everything hahaha
