It’s already done hahah
Yes, I totally understand, they must be busy. I won’t ask them to subtitle tho, I rather ask a mod, because how can they tell I can translate well if they don’t know my language? I don’t want the mod position, I just want to subtitle. I’m sure a lot of people asked for the mod position already, I would just be another profile for them to take time to look up, but as someone here already posted, it’s been a month since they asked to help, but no response whatsoever. I sure they are really busy, but they need the take time to choose someone. It’s a very requested language as I stated earlier.
And I tried a couple of times…
I sent Trangx a message, but I didn’t know it was a month. I got some messages from translators and thought I could help but I got no reply. I’m not sure what’s happening. But this is not like her to do. Maybe the drama can’t be translated into Portuguese or Spanish? Since these are the only two with a message on the cover.
The drama is available for all languages
If is allowed to be translated in all languages, then I don’t know what could have happened.
Nope. But why should this 2 languages not be able to translate while others can?
I know, is really odd.
Even if they aren’t allowed to, why would she write she’s reviewing applications if there’s no need for a moderator? I think she’s just a little too busy considering the amount of applications there are for both languages and the longer you wait to choose a moderator, the more applications you receive.
Yes, exactly. They should choose as soon as possible, because the longer they take, more and more applications will pile up. As long as it’s still open, people will apply and there’s a lot of people in the portuguese and spanish community haha it will be non stop.
Busy or not, 4 weeks is too much. Seems that the Portuguese team (and their very numerous audience) are put on hold for 3 weeks already and will have a hard time catching up. It doesn’t show much respect either. If a CM can’t find time to choose the mod - delegate.
Agreed. I’m not sure what to do here tho haha. Even tho people ask and keep sending messages, there’s no reply.
She last visited Discussions almost a year ago. I guess she can only be contacted via a PM but…
If this continues for another week or so, as an absolute last resort, you should write to Viki.
Hi there.
I can definitely tell you why, I’m being extra careful as the last time I choose a moderator I’ve gotten lots of “hate” messages why I didn’t choose them.
There’s been quite a bit of hackers showing up on the channel too. I’ve worked with all of you in the last 18 months to 1 year. All of you are very nice.
Usually people start arguing if someone has “too many projects (5+ and others with 3 applied) when there’s someone with the same qualifications”. In the end, those can be hardly determined. Last time I mainly received complaints for languages where a) nobody else applied b) where someone considered making a channel page an additional project (so, a misunderstanding, but during that conversation I found out that the complaining person didn’t speak English well).

I’m bringing this up here because I want to know what you guys think about what is happening lately on Viki. I’m on the platform for about 3 years, so maybe the older users already saw something like this happening before, but this is a first for me. For the past few months I’ve been getting messages from new accounts (under 1000 contributions, sometimes zero and created very recently) asking to be mod for Hindi, Spanish, Japanese, Indonesian… the thing is, the same person asked for more than t…

In all seriousness, though, something must be done about these complaining (hating) applicants. I hear more and more about this issue, spreading around like plague. CMs should not have to deal with this sort of crap. Applicants who complain about other applicants to the point of insulting both the applicants and the CM, should be somehow sanctioned.
If as an applicant for a Mod position you can’t maintain a decent, respectful conversation with the CM, how are you going to manage a team of subbers? You don’t deserve a position of a Mod then. Politeness and a cool head are rule number one for any leader.
Well said!
Anyway - I’ve made decisions now. I’m ready for the messages of not releasing episodes fast enough.
I’m very sorry to hear that people sent you hate messages. I understand why you are being so careful, but I’m glad you made a decision! See you in the project!
