Time to talk about our artwork!

Just plain background color?

<div style="background: __;"> </div>

Should work. Obviously put in the color, I think either hex # or rgb will do. And the entire part of the page you want the background for inside the div container.

EDIT
I only figured this out…sort of recently, but you can do repeating images in background too. For anyone interested.

<div style="height: __px; background: url(__) repeat;"> </div>

Add URL between the parentheses where is says url. I’ve always had to input a page/section height as well for the background to repeat - your mileage may vary?

thanks!!! I also needed those code but How I can do this , like this page http://www.viki.com/users/Sarcas I´m talking about the color background

The first code will do that.

<div style="background: #c7c5e8;">

Like that, but change the numbers/color.
By the way, this is my new favorite place to go color-hunting: ColorHexa

Hi guys! So I’m still learning and there are so many questions I want to ask. Some questions are unclear for me so I’m going to ask it again:
<img src="//viki-

Links:
My gif: (deleted)
The community wall that had animated gifs: http://www.viki.com/tv/24286c-birth-of-a-beauty

PS. Why does the HTML code <div style="background: #c7c5e8;">
doesn’t work on my community wall? it only stay as words and nothing happens.

Ps. When I upload my Gif animation in the editing page, it stil works. But when I click save and I tried to view it on our community wall, I’ve been left disappointed. The animated gif freezes! It doesn’t move! How can I make it like this? http://www.viki.com/tv/24286c-birth-of-a-beauty like the moving pictures on a picture? Please help!

well. I’m gonna answer some questions…
3 that is the body of your design basically everything, and the p is paragraph so you can create paragraphs by clicking it…
4 that is just a background color. it will give you a color - no gif will move with that.
7 I normally upload gifs somewhere else rather than viki, but I couldn’t say whether that makes a difference at all.
8 yes you can. what program are you using?

you need to put that code

when you are in source

@Nahyeni_777 I’ll also try to clarify a few things.

1 HTML is the language (or I guess, computer code) that makes up web pages - the layout, the colors, the fonts, etc.

2, 3 I wouldn’t concern myself with the red thing - I think it marks off the different sections of your page based on the html code. Similarly, the functions at the bottom show you what kinds of sections you have-- (In the body of your design, there is a paragraph. You can also have things like headings and tables, but I won’t get into that.)

4 No, that’s for selecting background colors as I’d stated.

5 Yes, that happens. I think it’s because the editor isn’t the same width as the section for the design on the actual page. (FYI, I think the width is currently 568px?)

6 I don’t think the actual number of frames matters. The size of the image file probably does; I don’t know what Viki’s file size limits are. If it won’t upload to Viki, just use another site.

7 I’m not sure what you mean. It shouldn’t matter if you’re uploading to Viki’s server or another site though (unless your file size is too large for Viki).

8 If you’re using Photoshop, there’s a button you click to select how many times you want the animation to repeat/loop. If you’re in the animation panel, looking at the frames timeline, the button will be somewhere on the bottom. (This may be slightly different for you if your version of PS is different. You can google it for more info.) You want to change it from ‘once’ to ‘forever’.

Your image is broken; did you link to it or upload it on the forum page?

I’ll give you a few tips related to Birth of a Beauty’s design, since you used it as your example.

I know viki’s capacity for images is 400 __ (I’m sorry, I really forgot the unit… LOL somehow I do it mechanically now. If someone knows, please say it >_<), so I always verify that when I’m saving my pictures. If it’s above 400 __, I know I won’t be able to upload it. Actually, I started to “cut” gifs in half to avoid images that are too big for viki. I don’t like to host them elsewhere, but I used do to that before.

The only method I know to make images stick together (without any space between them) is to align them to the left. That’s what I do in order to cut pictures and add animation without loosing quality and all. PS. You have to pay attention to the width, so there won’t be any space on the sides. Plus, I agree with @scircus… now the wall’s width is 568px, but you can reduce that by using dividers inside dividers.

I don’t use any html code for adding gifs to the wall. I simply update the images at viki normally.
I hope that helps.

I’m using Adobe Photoshop on making animated gifs.

I’m using CS6

And no, I didn’t upload it in a forum, I’m trying to upload it in my community wall.

Thanks for the great explanations guys!
I’m using Cs6 btw.
here’s the animated gif. I tried I hope it works!

OMG thanks guys! Love much!

Now I’ll going to put it in my community wall
