@pandali_666 yes your Viki ID is very important so moderators can contact you swiftly, even when you write to them, leave your Viki ID “Link” behind, because the ID in viki box isn’t a direct link. So like this https://www.viki.com/users/pandali_666/overview or in html coding or what ever it is which I’m not good at, that would be like a short cut for your link saying “here, me, etc.”.

You can also look for a channel that needs help and write to the respective Chinese/English Team (I’m not sure I selected the right Chinese version, you can also adjust the languages in the Project Finder).
https://subber.viki.com/project_finder?render_new_template=1&submit_flag=1&type=subtitle&subtitler_from_language_code=zh&subtitler_to_language_code=en
** Well nothing shows up, then I’m guessing for Chinese language it doesn’t work, very sorry.

Then try this in the either “on air” or better “coming soon” selection. On Air dramas have in general a Ch/Eng team together, but not always.

@simi11 Thanks for the information and help! I have updated my previous. There does not seem to be any projects in Project Finder for Chinese -> English but I will definitely keep looking. Thanks again!

Hello, I’m interested in subtitling from English to Russian (native in both.) Although I know both languages fluently, I’m new to subtitling. When I tried to find projects on the project finder, none of the channel managers replied and I would like to help out as much as I can. I’ve worked on 1 project before (I’ll go to you when the weather is nice.) I don’t have Viki Pass yet.

It might take couple days till they answer, did you check if the moderators are active? Also some dramas require a VikiPass or even a QC status which you don’t have yet, then try dramas that are available to you, good luck!

The channel managers I’ve messaged are older dramas (not on air) and it was a week ago (none of them require a VikiPass.) I’ll keep trying though, thank you

The project Finder is usually not very helpful. Just go to https://www.viki.com/explore and click on some dramas that seem interesting to you (not on air ones). If it turns out they don’t have Russian subtitles yet, you can ask the Channel Manager if you could help them out with that. If there is a Russian moderator but the subs are not complete, you could also ask the mod if you can help. If the Russian subs are complete, you can ask the Russian mod if he/she maybe has other projects for you.
In all cases, go to the profile of the Channel Managers and moderators you plan to approach and look when their last activity was. Of course not having done any subtitling or segmenting recently, doesn’t necessarily have to mean they’re not online at all, but at least when you see someone wrote a subtitle 5 minutes ago you’re sure they’re around.
And just keep trying. Sooner or later you will succeed.

Btw, you could also try on air shows that have been on air for a while and have enough episodes released to keep you busy till you’re able to watch the rest.

For example, I just recently heard of this one. Completely randomly mentioned in one of the other Discussion threads.

Du kan se på hennes profil at hun var sist aktiv 2 timer siden. Så hun er faktisk aktiv. Lykke til!
