Πήγαινε σε σειρές που θα έρθουν “προσεχώς” (Coming Soon) και κοίταξε εκεί όπου λέει Team. Αν υπάρχει Greek moderator τότε κάνε κλικ στο εικονίδιο, θα σε πάει στη σελίδα της υπεύθυνης για την ελληνική μετάφραση της σειράς. Από εκεί, κλικ στο φάκελλο για να της στείλεις προσωπικό μήνυμα. Γράψε της λίγα πράγματα για τον εαυτό σου, π.χ. το επίπεδο των αγγλικών και των ελληνικών σου, αν έχεις καθόλου πείρα σε μεταφράσεις, αν έχεις Viki pass κλπ.

Hello there! I’m not sure if this is the right spot to say this, but I have been wanting to watch this Chinese drama so much. It’s called : Meet in Youth Love in Foods ( 像我们一样年轻). I have found the show on Youtube, but there are only Chinese Subtitles. Would anyone be willing to translate the subtitles to English for me?
Unfortunately all new Korean dramas come already subtitled by paid Viki translators.
All you can do is
- caption (write Korean subtitles of Korean shows, by listening, or sometimes they give us the script, which may or may not be faithful, but surely helps)
- become a translation editor, i.e. checking the existing translation for inaccuracies and excessive localization which Viki users frown upon and revert.

Ich würde gern Korrektur lesen. Es ist unglaublich und grausam, aber ich finde in jeder Folge die ich sehe, egal in welchem Genre und aus welchem Land: erfundene Wörter, fehlende Buchstaben, verdrehte Buchstaben oder doppelte Wörter u.a., das macht mich irre.
Leider wird das von Viki überhaupt nicht angeboten z.B. bei Projektsuche.
Ich hab inzwischen den Eindruck, dass zumindest das Deutsche nicht von Muttersprachlern kommt, vielleicht sogar nur von einer KI.
I would like to proofread. It’s unbelievable and cruel, but in every episode I watch, regardless of genre or country, I find invented words, missing letters, mixed-up letters, duplicate words, and other things. It drives me crazy.
Unfortunately, Viki doesn’t offer this at all, for example, when searching for projects.
I now have the impression that at least the German isn’t being done by native speakers, perhaps even by an AI.
Eine KI verdreht in der Regel keine Buchstaben oder vergisst sie. KI-Übersetzungen fallen eher dadurch auf, dass Segmente nicht zusammenpassen, die Höflichkeitsform wirr verwendet wird und ggf. Worte auftauchen, die im Kontext nicht so passend (oder merkwürdig weit hergeholt) erscheinen. Aktuellere Projekte werden in den meisten Fällen schon von Muttersprachlern übersetzt, jedoch selten von einer einzelnen Person. Heißt, es kann variieren und nicht immer wird auch direkt editiert. Editieren ist wiederum sehr zeitintensiv und erfordert viel Eigeninitiative, weshalb diverse Leute es machen wollen, es ihnen jedoch schwerfällt, auch durchzuhalten in einem adäquaten Zeitrahmen (oder was auch vorkommt, ist eine gewisse Nachlässigkeit und Inkonsequenz).
Ich habe zwar selbst auch mit Editieren angefangen bei Viki, aber grundsätzlich rate ich dazu, bei ein paar Projekten mitzuwirken in der Übersetzung, um Formatierung, Arbeitsweise und Co zunächst zu verinnerlichen. Meld dich ruhig bei Interesse: Viki Contributor Community

Is it possible that you watch the dramas as soon as the German translation becomes available? And the editors haven’t had time to step in and check it?
Normally, if you go to the “Team” tab, and scroll down, below the volunteer icons, you will find the so-called “Cover page”, which is a very long strip with a poster of the film, the cast, the team members and so on. At the top of this strip, we always write “X out of Y episodes translated and edited” so that viewers will know when an episode is edited and ready to be viewed.
