Bonjour ! Je souhaite participer pour faire de la correction de sous-titres en français, notamment en terme d’orthographe. J’ai remarqué quelques erreurs pendant mon visionnage de “Bataille pour le bonheur” et je serais ravie de pouvoir améliorer les sous-titres avec l’équipe

New on Viki, I would like to help subtitling dramas from english to french even though I’m a beginner. I’m currently doing a PhD in french litterature and I attended some translations’class (from german to french), so I’m comfortable with historical dramas (korean or chinese). I speak german as well but I’m not totally fluent. Let me know if you’re interested !

Nouvelle sur Viki, je voudrais aider à sous-titrer des dramas. Je n’ai pas encore d’expérience (mais je peux envoyer des vidéos d’exemple). Je suis en train de préparer une thèse en littérature française et j’ai eu des cours de traduction littéraire à l’Université (de l’allemand au français, mais les mécanismes et réflexes sont les mêmes), donc je suis particulièrement à l’aise avec les dramas historiques (qu’ils soient chinois ou coréen). N’hésitez pas à faire signe si vous êtes intéressés ! Je parle allemand aussi, mais je ne suis pas bilingue, du fait du manque de pratique, donc je serais sans doute moins efficace !

I guess you mean writing Chinese captions for C-dramas cause translating the Engels subtitles back into Chinese would be a bit counterproductive.
Sadly, though, even that is not an option anymore since those shows come with Chinese hardsubs nowadays. We don’t even have an option to edit them.
On the other hand, if you would be open to shows from other Asian countries, you could translate those shows from English to Chinese, provided that there is a Chinese moderator you can work with.

Another option would be to become a TE (Translation Editor) for Chinese. Then you would check English subtitles of Chinese-spoken shows for the accuracy of the translation. You wouldn’t have to worry about polishing the English cause that is the job of the GE (General Editor) and CE (Chief Editor).
To get started, ask a CE if he/she would be willing to train you.
