I’ve been looking for projects to work on and have applied to a few from the community project finder page, and through direct messages to the language moderators but I’m not having much luck getting responses.
I’m looking for projects translating subtitles from Korean to English/ Spanish, or English to Spanish.
Viki now has eliminated Korean-English translators, they only hire professionals because they want the subtitles to be done quickly.
However all teams need
Korean captioners (you listen to the audio and write the subtitles in Korean. Sometimes the written script is provided, sometimes not, but still you have to check because often director and actors change the script while filming)
Korean translation editors (you look at the English subtitles and see if you can catch something which was not translated correctly, i.e. the meaning is different, or an important part is missing, or there is a cultural item which needs an explanation note).
