Hiya! I’m a rookie subtitler and looking to build experience in this community. I have completed sample videos for the easy and intermediate categories on my profile (drlapa - Rakuten Viki). I have native proficiency in both English in Korean and an excellent grasp of the cultural nuances that result in high-quality subs. I would imagine there is a lot more demand for KOR-ENG translation than the other way around.
Please DM for any projects you might have! I do have a preference for movies and dramas, but am also happy to help out with other media types (variety, beauty, etc.). Looking forward to hearing from you!
Yes, surely. There are next to zero English language dramas to be translated into Korean. BUT
nowadays Viki unfortunately brings most new dramas pre-subbed by their own paid professional subbers (English but sometimes even Spanish, Portuguese and French), so Ko-En volunteer subbers are leaving Viki like migratory birds, because there’s nothing to do for them. Except for those who are very good in English and can work as Translation Editors.

I’m new here and looking to help the community.
I can sub from English to French.
I currently have a lot of time on my hands and would love to start working on any project.
To apply for a specific project, you have to contact Slovakian Moderator of that show. To find the Moderator:
go to the series in question
click on the tab Subbing team
then click on the tab Moderators
find the Slovakian one
click on the volunteer to see their profile
click on the small letter next to the profile picture to send the message.
However, if we are talking about this project/series:
…the Slovakian moderator hasn’t been active for 5 years.
If there isn’t any moderator on the project which interests you, you have to contact any other Slovakian Mod to gain subbing experience because you don’t have any contributions thus far (no experience). That means you will be first working on a project which might not interest you so much. But somebody has to guide you through your first steps here on Viki.
To find Slovakian moderators on Viki:
go to the most recent series
find Slovakian mods for each of them (if any)
contact several of them at the same time
wait for about a week for their response
if nobody responds, send another message
take any project that may come your way - you just need to start somewhere. Once you gain enough experience, you can volunteer for Eternal Love.

It is important that you post your Viki profile, as well. Otherwise we can’t sometimes find it manually. And that makes it hard for Moderators to contact you and offer you projects.
